9 Years

Happy Birthday to our sweet Paige!

We loved you from the moment you were conceived.

The first time I held you, I thought my heart would leap from my chest.

Until you were born I honestly never knew emotion existed that was this strong. So strong that there are no words to describe the feeling.

You were born fighting.

As you got older, your personality quickly emerged.

You are a silly girl,

who loves the camera.

You never colored on the walls.

Your body was your canvas!

You sure do love animals

And they love you too!

You are a girly girl, through and through!

But you can be a tough chick too!

In your short 9 years you have been through a lot.

But your spirit always shines through.

You are a fantastic big sis!

You are such a courageous young lady.

You have captured the world with your eyes.

Oh your eyes, your beautiful eyes.

We love you so much Miss Paige.

We are honored to be a part of your journey.

Happy Birthday Miss Paige!

Hi Sue!!

We are on this journey together Sue. You are a major part of it all!! I miss you horribly. I miss watching Paige with Kevin and seeing a peacefulness on her face that she doesn't have anywhere else in life. I miss that feeling within myself when you and I are together.

Simply put... I MISS YOU!!

Thank you!!

She is still in piano and loving it. She's getting ready for her recital. She chose "Oh Come All Ye Faithful" for the organ (I'm not sure how that happened either-hehe) and "Lullaby" for her piano piece. She's even going to sing, while playing, during this recital. She is such a brave child!!

Happy birthday, Paige! I hope it's a great one. Oh gosh, your pretty little Paige's birthday is making me just as misty-eyed as my own kids' big days do. I hope I can come up with a tribute even half as moving to my own sweet little monsters.

Stacey...the one with the 'e'

Happy Birthday Paige and congratulations to your entire family Stacy. You have ALL been through a lot and you have shared your stories in funny, profound, and moving ways. I am sure you give a lot of people the insight and the courage to continue.

As for the recent discussions on your blog, I say go girl go. If we can learn to have these discussions in a respectful manner---and I think we are making progress, slowly, despite our stumbles---that is worth the effort.

Rather than sidetrack an ongoing discussion, I'd like to suggest that those of us with blogs offer our own posts to continue the conversation if we see a need. I see that this has happened with this last conversation and I'd like to point readers to my own post on the resuscitation issue on my blog called Breech Mama .

PS. I realize this post is about tooting Paige's horn, not mine, so apologies in advance. TOOT TOOT, PAIGE...

Of course it's a Hannah Montana cake! What else for a 9 year old? DD turned 9 in September and we had a Hannah Montana party too. But, are you the best mom and getting tickets to a concert? I'm calling in all favors trying to get tickets to an upcoming concert. My DD deserves it with 4 brothers with autism. If I'm sucessful, do you need any souvenirs?

Happy B-day Paige!

Thanks everyone!

It was such an emotional day for us. It's funny. The emotional overload that we experienced yesterday doesn't happen to us every year. For the first few years we were mush on her birthday. But now it seems to only happen every few years. I think I am all cried out!

And, thankfully eye glasses got smaller over the years! Wow mine were huge! hehe
